Morgan Leigh Furman

Morgan Leigh graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Elon University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hispanic Studies and Sociology from the College of William and Mary. While in law school, Morgan Leigh distinguished herself as a Leadership Fellow and an Oak Scholar and served as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Leadership and the Law.

Morgan Leigh discovered her passion for serving the immigrant community through her work in the Elon Humanitarian Immigration Law Clinic, where she worked closely with refugee clients to prepare applications for family reunification, adjustment of status, and naturalization. While in law school, Morgan Leigh interned at Church World Service in Greensboro, North Carolina, where she assisted clients with a variety of cases and represented clients at United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) interviews. Morgan Leigh also interned at USCIS in Durham, North Carolina, where she gained valuable experience drafting briefs for the Board of Immigration Appeals and collaborating with government attorneys and immigration officers.

Prior to joining the firm, Morgan Leigh worked at Virginia Poverty Law Center, where she served immigrant victims of domestic and sexual violence throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Legal Assistance to Victim-Immigrants of Domestic Abuse Clinic (LA VIDA). Through her work, Morgan Leigh assisted clients with applications for U visas, T visas, and VAWA Self-Petitions, and adjustment of status. Directly after graduating from law school, Morgan Leigh worked at a boutique immigration law firm in Richmond, where she assisted clients with a variety of immigration matters. Prior to law school, Morgan Leigh was a paralegal and worked on medical malpractice and workers’ compensation litigation cases.

Morgan Leigh is licensed to practice law in Virginia and is an active member of the Virginia State Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is dedicated to providing high quality legal services and making the immigration process accessible to her clients.
