Benjamin D. Johnson

Attorney

Ben received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Christopher Newport University.

Ben is from the Washington D.C. metro area originally. He had the great fortune to begin learning Spanish at a young age in a Spanish immersion elementary school. After graduating from his undergraduate university, he worked at a DC area non-profit specializing in college access and career readiness for immigrant youth, assisted aggrieved clients as a bilingual paralegal for the D.C. Bar’s Client Security Fund, and lived in the Dominican Republic for a year participating in an alternate Peace Corp program.  These experiences led him to be interested in immigration law.

While in law school, Ben joined Columbus Community Legal Services’ Immigration and Refugee Clinic and represented asylum seekers from around the world as a student attorney. He also interned with multiple Virginia Public Defender’s offices where he represented minors in detention hearings with his third-year practice certificate. After graduating law school in 2023, Ben served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Kelly, Judge Harris, and Judge Willis in the Circuit Court of Hanover County, Virginia.

Ben is licensed to practice law in Virginia and speaks Spanish. He is dedicated to ensuring each client is aware of their rights and benefits under U.S. immigration law.
